NAUTICAL CABIN
What more fitting retreat for a boat captian than a beautiful cabin in the woods? This couple had design and space requirements to integrate their passion for the sea with with their love for the mountains, very family oriented program since the focus of this home is entertaining family and friends. The home boasts large open interior spaces, open loft with connecting stairs, and plenty of deck and porch space in which to connect with family. An exterior fireplace was a requirement since the time available to come would be in the fall and winter. The light fixtures and decorations all reinforce the nautical theme that makes this cabin such a special place. The dormers open up the great Room to light at all times of the day, soaring above the main floor. The basement, with its wide veranda style steps, invites the family to go on a walk in the woods, or the deer to come close by and visit.
